i have good news to announce! we are now at
7, 568 signatures and counting for our
no dogs for laporte petition! our original target was a modest 1,000 signatures but thanks to everyone's help in spreading the word and media coverage everywhere, we've had to up it first to 2,000 and now, we're hoping for 10,000! we've also created a
facebook group to consolidate news links and video updates for anyone who feels strongly about this and wants to keep up with the developments in the case (scheduled for hearing on 22 feb 2008). a big thank you to everyone who signed the petition and told your friends about it!
dean-o's mommy has also made a banner which you may want to place on your blogs, like the one i have here – please feel free to paste it onto your blogs so that new visitors to your page can click on it and get to the petition site.
at the same time, my friends from
mr. doodle's dog have also alerted me to the fact that i may have been unwittingly supporting the likes of the evil laporte – through the adsense advertisements that google has been placing on my page. some of them are harmless, being ads for dog training, accessories, pet hotels and such, but others like "cute fox terrier puppies" or "cute shih tzus" are very probably
puppy mill ads!!! do please take a moment to scrutinise your ads if you have adsense running on your blog too. i have deleted mine and shall be replacing them with frivolous human recreational nonsense soon.
another very important thing that has gotten me very, very excited is that christmas is only a few days away and although we aren't going to have a pawty like the previous year, i've just heard mom talking to dear auntie raye about ordering a
christmas log cake and meatloaf for me! and if you have been reading my blog since last december, auntie raye's log cakes are to die for, as are her famous meatloafs!
this is a photo of me and my pawsonal log cake last year; it didn't live long but it made me belly, belly happy that day.
this year's log cake (three to four servings) at sgd$21.90; no more pawsonal size, but i think i can still deal with it all by meself. o yes, i can!
i've never tried auntie raye's meatloafs (sgd$19.90; choice of chicken or lamb) but since i love her meatballs, i just know i must love this too. i only hope that we really aren't having a pawty because i just don't want to have to share these with anyone!part of the proceeds from the log cakes and the meatloafs will go to
action for singapore dogs, an adoption and rescue centre that helps stray and abandoned friends find their fur-ever homes. click
here for auntie raye's contact details if you would like to order some log cakes or meatloafs this christmas!
and, it's still been raining, so life is good – no swimming lessons yet! wake me up at christmas!
