flashy pants week

i am sulking in a corner now because i am feeling very itchy and scratchy around my peepee. here's what happened:

* mom found droplets of blood on the tiles
* droplets of blood traced to my peepee
* mom calls dad
* parents decide to throw a "growing up"(???) pawty for me
* mom whips out flashy pants and puts it on for me
* i sulk
* and sulk some more

it's been several days now, and my peepee is still bleeding. i am very annoyed that i cannot lick it (because of said flashy pants) but my parents are very happy about it. they mentioned something about being "overdue" and "thank goodness".

i enjoyed my two-dog pawty though. miss luna and i were treated to lots of snacks that night. we even got a present each (i got a new toy – a gator whom i shall name hump-hrey while luna got a new bed).

there seems no indication when i might finally be rid of the flashy pants but i swear i will shred it to ribbons once it is off!

my new friend, humphrey, and i. methinks we're going to have lots of fun together!

m.i.a. now back in action!

ello friends! i know, i know, i haven't posted anything since christmas as we've been really busy!

first, mom's been calling me jiejie (big sister) and telling me i need to be a good role model, which was all entirely incomprehensible until she came home one day with an ultrasound scan photo of what looked like a dashchund to me and explained that i'll be a big sister come september. the baby apparently is still being hatched and we've been singing and talking to it every now and then. we're keeping our fingers crossed for everything to be fine cos mom's last pregnancy ended in a very dramatic miscarriage.

at 12 weeks. mom says that baby was kicking and jumping around when this photo was taken so i think it'll be a feisty little one just like me. :)

the other thing that's been keeping us away from blogging is that we have just moved! yes! we've moved out from our house with the little garden into a 21-storey-high apartment – yes ma'am, yours truly is now an apartment dog, if only for five months! we'll be moving back as soon as the renovations to our house are done, and hoping that it'll all be in time for the baby.

i suppose you can now imagine what it was like for us the last few months and esp weeks – packing and more packing! and guess what, i am now reunited with my little god-sister, luna!

miss fee and latest partner-in-crime, miss luna, made to remain in sit-stay for attempting to play tug with what they both knew was a non-toy.

puppy mill updates & doggie log cakes for fee!!!

i have good news to announce! we are now at 7, 568 signatures and counting for our no dogs for laporte petition! our original target was a modest 1,000 signatures but thanks to everyone's help in spreading the word and media coverage everywhere, we've had to up it first to 2,000 and now, we're hoping for 10,000! we've also created a facebook group to consolidate news links and video updates for anyone who feels strongly about this and wants to keep up with the developments in the case (scheduled for hearing on 22 feb 2008). a big thank you to everyone who signed the petition and told your friends about it!

dean-o's mommy has also made a banner which you may want to place on your blogs, like the one i have here – please feel free to paste it onto your blogs so that new visitors to your page can click on it and get to the petition site.

at the same time, my friends from mr. doodle's dog have also alerted me to the fact that i may have been unwittingly supporting the likes of the evil laporte – through the adsense advertisements that google has been placing on my page. some of them are harmless, being ads for dog training, accessories, pet hotels and such, but others like "cute fox terrier puppies" or "cute shih tzus" are very probably puppy mill ads!!! do please take a moment to scrutinise your ads if you have adsense running on your blog too. i have deleted mine and shall be replacing them with frivolous human recreational nonsense soon.

another very important thing that has gotten me very, very excited is that christmas is only a few days away and although we aren't going to have a pawty like the previous year, i've just heard mom talking to dear auntie raye about ordering a christmas log cake and meatloaf for me! and if you have been reading my blog since last december, auntie raye's log cakes are to die for, as are her famous meatloafs!

this is a photo of me and my pawsonal log cake last year; it didn't live long but it made me belly, belly happy that day.

this year's log cake (three to four servings) at sgd$21.90; no more pawsonal size, but i think i can still deal with it all by meself. o yes, i can!

i've never tried auntie raye's meatloafs (sgd$19.90; choice of chicken or lamb) but since i love her meatballs, i just know i must love this too. i only hope that we really aren't having a pawty because i just don't want to have to share these with anyone!

part of the proceeds from the log cakes and the meatloafs will go to action for singapore dogs, an adoption and rescue centre that helps stray and abandoned friends find their fur-ever homes. click here for auntie raye's contact details if you would like to order some log cakes or meatloafs this christmas!

and, it's still been raining, so life is good – no swimming lessons yet! wake me up at christmas!

barking out for help on behalf of fellow wire fox terriers

dear friends, i am not sure if any of my wirey friends have already blogged about this, but i feel i need to do my duty to help my wirey friends who once lived and suffered in the blainville puppy mill outside montreal.
the spca montreal described the dogs as resembling "something straight out of a horror film" when they were first discovered.

there were over 100 of them in the puppy mill (a bungalow) when they were discovered two years ago. they lived amongst knee-high piles of excrement and were completely matted up, with some weighing more than three times their own body weight because of the excrement they were carrying in their matted fur. there were also corpses of deceased dogs in various stages of decomposition, which the living dogs were forced to feed on. the sight was so horrifying that some of the journalists who were present to cover the story began throwing up. sadly though, some of the dogs didn't make it.
can you even make out what this might be, had you not already known it to be a dog?

the case has recently been heard in the court. their breeder, marc-andre laporte, has been convicted on two counts of animal cruelty but he has, despite the conviction, asked to be restored custody over some of our friends who were rescued during that operation. the wire fox terrier network has been following this development and is outraged with laporte's request. axel's mommy has created an online petition entitled No Dogs for LaPorte and i hope you will all please go and sign it.
no one should live like that. but over 100 of our friends did, at the blainville puppy mill, crawling in a filthy sea of excrement and urine. although rescued, many of our friends continue to suffer from a whole host of infections and medical problems.

this horrible, horrible man must never be allowed to keep dogs again! we must not let anymore of our friends suffer under his hands! please come join us as we rally together to protect our friends! No Dogs for LaPorte!

prayers

i'm pleased to announce that two peaceful weeks have passed without any evil attempts to get me into my new life jacket to see if she can swim now. whew! i shall continue to pray for an especially rainy december (and january, and february, and march, and...).

something most terrible happened last week though. bussie left me an e-mail to inform me that ozzy's daddy had passed away suddenly, at the young age of 29. we're very worried about auntie jen and our friends, ozzy and romeo, although we know that they are all very tough cookies; please help us pray for them as they go through this very difficult period.

rest in peace, uncle david.

eye es two, und more!

bark! bark! hello friends! i can't believe it's been more than a month since my last post. wow. what have i been up to?

for starters, ah pa and ah ma have been coming over to spend quite a bit of quality time with me. we have been going to the park in the middle of the day several times the last few weeks and as we had hoped, we were the only ones there so ah pa got some time off leash. after a few pee rounds and gallops around the park, ah pa very quickly proclaimed himself King of the Park. ah pa's been feeling really cheerful lately as a result. he's even playing a lot, lot more than usual (usual being hardly ever). we think the unfettered romping in his park has done him lots of good!

ah pa's first acupuncture session went well, as did his subsequent ones, except for a few embarrassing instances when he tried to nip his new mister vet, doctor oh. doctor oh is a resident vet at the singapore zoo. he is also trained in traditional chinese medicine (for humans) and is an accomplished tcm practitioner and acupuncturist for animals as well. we all think ah pa is in good hands. it's been 20 days since his last seizure and we're keeping our paws crossed. ah pa is happy and we all are, too!

and i am now two years old! today! i am two today! i'd been waiting so long for the Terrible Two to come! dad and mom brought me to pawtobello cafe for lunch. it's the second pet restaurant i've ever been (the other being auntie raye's urban pooch cafe) and although i don't get any special treatments or extra treats here, i would say it's pretty good too. my only grouse is that the muttloaf mom ordered for me is far too small to be a satisfying meal, unlike at auntie raye's where i would also get some veggies on the side. but in all, it has a lovely country-style ambience which is quite refreshing in singapore's concrete-jungle-like cityscape.

we went shopping after lunch and horror of horrors, mom and dad decided to get me a useful burpday present – a life jacket. eek.

the other new event at home is that i now have a little baby god sister staying with me! welcome luna, a two-month old dashchund and the latest addition to auntie cindy's family of many furkids! now there are five! baby luna has been here for a week and will stay with us till it's ready for her to go home. she's currently getting toilet-trained and my, this little one has an appetite quite comparable to mine!

King of the Park (right) with Princess Fee (centre) and his beautiful Queen Mango (left).

waiting anxiously for ah pa's first acupuncture session at mount pleasant animal hospital.

the first hair-thin needle went into the middle of ah pa's head; it was to calm and relax ah pa. several more went into his scalp, back, elbows and legs after that. the needles were removed after about 30 minutes; ah pa also took home some capsules of herbal mixture to be consumed daily.

ramasage family goes shopping after another lovely day at the park!

today: my very dainty piece of muttloaf. i also had some sausages and sauerkraut from mom's plate!

my practical burpday present. i would've liked to have more treats instead. pah.

my little god sister, luna!

pop n pup time

ah ma is on heat again and ah pa has come to spend the week with me in order to prevent anymore oops babies. compared to the brooding and moping last year, i must say he is in relatively high spirits this time. we even fought over food had a few friendly boxing matches and went grocery shopping together. ah ma will be proud of us when she sees this video!

i am very, very angry!

mom and i found this at the doggiesite forum and we are both fuming mad now.

I post up an adopting posting on Yahoo Classified & Petschannel looking for an adoptor for my JRT after I bought my new-born son for his check-up, and the Doctor says he suspect my 1mth old+ son of asthma because he detect whizzing sound from my boy, and was told to keep my son away from pets and dust.

Received a lots of mails, asking about my JRT, I would required all to send me a portfolio about their experiences with dogs, so that I can decide which home is the best for my JRT.

Then this, below-mentioned guy's [Desmond] portfolio was so impressive that it manage to convice me that he would be a good dog owner and would be able to give my JRT a good home. However, by the end of the day, I never expect he is actually an ABUSER!!!!!

I m starting this thread to warn all Dog-Lovers, and dog owners who intend to give out their dogs for adoption, to beware of this guy...I don't hope this horrible inccident will happen again....to anyone....

...

Dog Rearing History :
(as provided from him when i ask for his porfolio on dog-rearing experience)
"I had kept 3 dogs all these years. My first dog, when I was 18 yrs, was a GSD. ... He died when I was 22. After a year, my friend ... gave me an 8 year sniffer dog ... . I had it for about 4 years and then had to put her to sleep due to old age. I then did not have a pet dog for quite awhile, coz the sentiment in parting with a long partner/friend/companion, made me feel very sad and dejected. ... When I was 34, my auntie gave me a small dog(mixed Spitz - female sterilized). ... My auntie had to go for a colon operation. She therefore, could not care for the dog after that. I enjoyed a good 7 years with her. Being an experienced dog handler, i trained this little girl many commands ... . Sadly, my spitz of about 7 yrs went for 2 major operations ... . Besides, i could not bear the sight of seeing her in hospital for 2 days. Subsequently as she was aging, I decided to do a PTS on her. I'm now married and I have a 8 yr old son. He's been pestering me for a dog. Though he does not know the responsibilities that come along with owning a dog, I am confident that I could use the learn curves for the dog to nurture my son in many aspects of life. If you feel comfortable in allowing me to be the next careful owner of your pet JRT, I'm confident, after a year or two, he'll be in fantastic shape."

Date of passing JRT: 8/8/2007, 8.30pm (at the aboved mentioned location)

Senerio:

3 hours after passing my JRT to Desmond, i sms him asking how is my JRT doing, and the reply i got was asking me to cm pick up my JRT cause his wife dun like him, immediately after seeing his reply, my hubby call him, but he then say the problem has been resloved...

The next day when i msg him again, he say pizza is great and tt he hv a friend workin in the narcotic dept as a trainer, who will come and pick up my JRT to the camp for training...i dun feel safe & weird...I then ask him whether can I pay my JRT a visit occassionally..and he agreed...

Thus, few days later, i ask him hw is my JRT doing, has he adapt in the new environment, Desmond then tld me pizza is doing gd and he wil be sending pizza to his friend's dog school for obedience training....i sense and knew sumthing is wrng!!! I told him i wan to go over to see my JRT, then he claim tt he wil be outstation and my JRT wil be at his groomer's plc until he come bck, wen i demand for the groomer no, he gv me excuses & stories, and wen he finally gv me a no., i call up, it was NOT IN USE!!!!

Then, despite Me, my hubby & best friend keep calling, he dun pick up our calls! From his email add, i manage to find his company's add & no. we cal up his office, he is nt in office then but we were told he is nt outstation, still in s'pore!!! He did not respond to my smses & calls at all!!

Ending:

I put up a thread at DS to look for him, and I got a call from a lady, asking of the description of the JRT I lose, and it fits the JRT she found!

The next day (21-8-2007), I went down to verify whether was it really my JRT, and indeed it was!!! So I bought my JRT home, although doctor has advised keeping my son away from pets, I think i can try observing how my son react to my JRT, if everything is ok then all is well, but, if my son is reacting badly, then I'll have to re-home him again, but this time round, i'll make his new owner is a true dog lover, and I'll do up an 'Adoption Contract'!!!

CONDITION of my JRT when found:

Found in the middle of the night (ard 3am+), tied to a stone chair (without reasonable allowance for movement, which means JRT can only stand on paws, can't even lay down) at the void deck of Blk 547 Hougang St 51. My JRT was crying away when he was found, was told that he cry so hard until his eyes was puff, and the kind lady that found my JRT said, ard that area, there are a lot of construction workers that might just kill a dog for food!!!

When my JRT was found, he had his bowl, vaccination card & a can of Pedigree canned food, all put together in a plastic bag beside him...other then that there was no food & water for him.

Conclusion:
I have report his lost to SPCA when i could not reach Desmond, now I have call back to told them I found my JRT (and HOW he was found!).

I try calling Desmond upon finding my JRT with another HP no, but upon hearing it was me, he put down the phone and never call back again, I then SMS him, demanding for an explanation on why was JRT abandoned without informing me, there was no respond too.

Since he is so unrependent, my next stop would be AVA...
