i been ticked!

help... help... help...

we were all cuddling in bed and going to zzz late one night. mom was kissing me goodnite when she discovered a broken bit of dried leaf on my muzzle. she was sleepy and not very bothered to attend to it – until said leaf grew legs and started walking.

in two seconds, we were both off the bed and out of the room with a piece of tissue paper laid out on the floor. i was frontlined immediately and frisked nearly every hour or so for the next few days, but unfortunately, all that didn't quite work. we're still finding ticks (lively, fatty ones) on me and in fact, just a few days ago, we found one on mom too. i don't know how to type that scream/shriek/wail she made when she saw it, but it was a very, very disturbing one.

we live in fear now, my friends. the enemies are ubiquitous and lurking in places we can't find (a painful irony, yes). and as we speak, they are multiplying. help. i need your help!!!

Hey Fee.
Yeah now you gotta get rid of them first. Have you thought of going to the groomers or vet to be de-ticked? Would be good if you add some garlic to your food next time too. If the situation worsens, your hoomans will have a hard time and need to get those tick bombs to clear out the ticks in house.
I hope you get it settle soon.!! Will check back on you.

Eeeeewww fat ticks! They all must be destroyed! Well, the best way of getting rid of the fat juicy ticks off you instantly within an hour is by your mommy bathing you with Bayticol. A very strong liquid, smells like petrol which you have to dilute with one liter of water(coke size bottle) wash you down with it as a last rinse & leave it on you for about 10 min. Then dry you off with towel. In a few min, you'll see ticks crawling out of your fur & some dropping off you. And that's the BEST time to squish them! For your mommy's room & the whole house, spray the whole house with the liquid which is used to kill ants & termites. Good luck in getting rid of them all!

Mom had a flock of guineas for years (the only poultry I couldn't catch!) and they were wonderful for getting rid of ticks in the yard. We're talking about getting more if the Frontline doesn't work this year.

Keep watch. We hate those pesky pests, too!

Got it when I was a wee puppy. Mama dripped Frontline Plus. Remove as many ticks as you can see on the body. Get Frontline spray (biggest bottle) & spray it all around the house. Corners especially.

Good luck!!!

I agree that the vet would know how to get rid of the ticks and prevents future ticks from appearing.

Thanks for visiting my blog and playing in the caption game. I'm gonna add you to my cool dog list.

Ewww!!!

Ickies!!! Me hates those!

Anyway, I think first thing to do is to have a medicated bath so that all the ickies die. You'll smell like you've been dipped in some medicine for days...

Apply Frontline 3 days after bath. You can get Frontline from your vet.

Next is to get the exterminator guys to come and clear the area. I had a flea problem and they came from the garden!!

Like what other doggy friends say, take garlic. I'm taking it although I don't like it.

Hope it helps. You should be fine...

Hi Fee

A friend of mine got a serious tick infestation and his mum 'drown' him with organic ACV every day. and the ticks went away.
Tips : we get diluted ACV as a last rinse after our shower to prevent ticks. So far so good.
Good luck with the icky ticks.

I wear a flea & tick collar most of the summer here. My mom still checks me over every other day for those awful creatures. She does the alcohol thing and then when they are off, she picks them up with tweezers that she only uses on me for that problem and drops the ticks into a small leak proof medicine bottle filled with alcohol. That usually kills them. Mom doesn't like to handle the ticks herself if it can be avoided or unless she is wearing disposable rubber gloves (they are for sale in the Pharmacy here is the US). She carefully removes the gloves and throws them out. She changes medicine bottles out every few weeks or if they are full (not usually that many- thank Dog). I hadn't heard about garlic but am willing to give it a try as I like liver cooked with garlic.

I'm afraid that your parents will probably have to spray the carpets and wash any bedding you have. In addition to your garden area, I'd be wary of any strange dogs you meet or parks that have a lot of weeds.

Sure hope you get im. The only good tick is a dead tick.

I didn't know garlic worked, but we sure eat lots of it.

We have lots of goats and sheep round here so there are loads of ticks.

Master puts Frontline drops on every couple of months when it is tick season, but they try to make sure I have a break from it whenever poss.

If he sees any he picks them off anyway. Mistress usually screams, but if he is not around she will pick them and squash them too.
